Deliver a Meal
Metro Meals on Wheels
Date/Time: Volunteer one hour during lunch time; Monday through Friday. Your family can volunteer weekly, monthly, or on a schedule that works for you
Delivering Meals on Wheels with your children/grandchildren is a wonderful opportunity to spend quality time as a family and pass on the values of kindness, compassion, and civic responsibility by helping seniors and individuals with disabilities in your community. Whether you have infants or teenagers, you can make a contribution together to improve your community. Delivering meals involves driving to the program site, then picking up and delivering 8-10 meals. It takes about an hour, and you can choose a program site near your home. The amount you socialize with the clients is dependent on the volunteer and the client. DGT has created a parent handbook to make this volunteer experience richer and more educational for families. You can find the link for the handbook and other family-friendly information at http://www.meals-on-wheels.com/family. Ages: Families with children of any age are welcomed and encouraged to volunteer Time Commitment: About an hour at lunch time Contact: Kelsey Ohme,Volunteer & Office Manager, 612-623-3363, Kelsey@meals-on-wheels.com, or you can complete the volunteer form and MMOW will connect you with the local Meals on Wheels program that serves your area www.meals-on-wheels.com

Create Paper Heads, Hands and Hearts Cutouts
The Family Partnership
Date/Time: This is an ongoing opportunity
Location: Mail or drop off completed cutouts off at any of The Family Partnership six locations
Since 1878, The Family Partnership has helped more than one million of our community's most vulnerable children and families. We are an accredited, human service nonprofit organization operating from our own six sites and hundreds of community locations throughout the metro, such as schools, churches, neighborhood centers, prisons, and food shelves. We are getting low on our paper cutouts of heads, hands and hearts. These cutouts are a fun, family-strengthening and community-building activity we use in many of our programs. Cut as many or few as your family wants to do and group them for us. We would like groups of 60 (20 heads, 20 hands, 20 hearts) in a variety of colors. You can put the groups in an envelope or baggie. You print them out on colored paper -we don't care which color(s).
Materials Needed: Colored paper and large envelopes or baggies
Ages: All ages, this is a family appropriate craft project
Time Commitment: Varies
Contact: Ella Strother, estrother@thefamilypartnership.org or 612-341-1671 for additional information and for the cutout template
